Devil May Cry 4
Sony Playstation 3

Devil May Cry 4The trial version of Devil May Cry 4 is finally available at the PSN store and although it is very brief, it does give you a very distinct taste of how the game works. You cannot get the whole picture just from the demo, but so far it shapes up to be pretty neat.

Once you have downloaded, installed and started the game you will be presented with two options – inside the city on a timer or on a snowy summit with a boss fight. The former gives you ten minutes to run from point A to point B, killing and collecting the usual suspects. So far there is no real feel of repetitiveness, although it is just a very short demo. Once the timer reaches zero you are then sent back to the title screen. In the latter demo, some familiar faces will ambush you – unless we are mistaken the monsters are Frosts from the very first Devil May Cry game. Once you are done with the small fry you will then face Berial, a gigantic fire demon from the depths of hell. Beating this boss will also end the second part of the demo.

From what we have played so far, the controls are spot on.The camera is controlled by the right stick and moves fairly fluidly, except situations where you will not be able to use the camera at all.Devil May Cry 4 This can be a bit of a bother when you have a pillar or something in the middleof the screen while trying to fight enemies. Also, the camera controls are standardised and not inverted; as you cannot access the menu on the demo there is no telling if there will be an option to invert the camera but we are hoping there will be. There is not much to say about the graphics; the gameplay’s footage videos and screens have been out for quite some time already and it does look that good. Of course, it looks even more concise on an HDTV so if you can get a 1080p compatible TV, all the better for it. As for the sound, it is clear and crisp and has the typical Devil May Cry rock metal soundtrack to it.

All in all the game looks and so far even plays great. We at Shinohan cannot wait to experience the composition as a whole.
