Playable demo ends aprubtly with Chainsaw guy
Release March 13 2009

At the Microsoft Media Briefing Capcom's Jun Takeuchi, the producer of Resident Evil 5, showcased a live playable demo for Resident Evil 5 with a co-op mode. Resident Evil 5 also marks the first time for Resident Evil to be on a Microsoft console.

As the demo starts we see Chris running around shooting random infected people carrying shovels and other potentially harmful utensils. Chris no longer a member of S.T.A.R.S. is now joined by [Sheba Alomar] which same as Chris works for BSAA, Capcom has yet to unveil what this stands for. In a nutshell, another biohazard incident has occured in Africa this time in a place called [Kiduju] and both of them are there to inspect what has actually happened. Playing Chris you advance through the territory and eventually you will end up at a dead end, but fear not as Xbox live comes to your aid with online co-op. A friend of yours can jump in and help you out playing [Sheba].

This might sound like Resident Evil 0... and yes, it does look like it as well. So far only online co-op has been mentioned, it would be safe to assume though that generally the other character will be played by the AI though, how smart the AI is... well who knows. All in all the game as it stands now looks like a cross breed between Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4, it's really been a long way since survial horror.

At the end of the demo we see a new variation of 'chainsaw guy' ready to cut your limbs off, and that's where it ends.

The official release date is now the March/13/2009 (it's a Friday the 13th).
