Retro gaming corner

This month’s title is Spelunker from the Famicom, 1985. Exploring caves to retrieve treasures from the depths of the earth, the main character is known for his incredible weakness!  The three presenters take on the game. The character has three lives left, so they decide to take one life each. Honma loses her life in the very early stages and Bunbun (the man in the middle with the red jacket) says, “Was that on purpose?” to which Honma replies, “Of course.”

The special guest ‘Nuts’ takes on the game himself, proving to be very adept. He completes the game without losing a single life, claiming, “This really is too easy.” Once completing the game, a secret version is reached with new green scenery. He completes this with the greatest of ease.

Introducing titles which have gone platinum

Super Smash Bros Brawl

Miyokawa (Black top): The volume of this game is immense. There are new characters, new modes and new events added to make for an incredibly fulfilling game. It’s something which you can play for a really long time, not to mention the Wi-fi battles. I recommend using a Game Cube controller for this game.

The guest character, Sonic, is much faster than his rivals. He can change into Super Sonic where he is able to fly. Another guest character, Snake, can also change his game positioning, so he can shoot his rivals from a distance.

If you hold the down pad for 60-seconds as the Snake character, you can unlock a secret game.

As Kamikaze loses the game, he has to eat some incredibly spicy Ramen. His conclusion…”If you play this game, make sure you don’t make the losers have to forfeit!”.
