Street Fighter IV - SHORYUKEN - Gouki eats Ryu's Dragon Punch
So here it is, a brand new trailer for Street Fighter IV and it's an Anime which very closely resembles the style of the opening of Breath of Fire IV. In a nutshell what we are getting here hast absolutely nothing to do with Gameplay or anything of the like. This IS just a trailer in an Anime format that is telling a very short story that is left open ended. We witness a beaten down Ryu trying to pull together his last straws of strength to beat the ever so strong Gouki (or Akuma if you're one of those people who play the western version of the games .... urgh).
Flashbacks show a fight between Gouki and Gouken (Ryu's and Gouki's master - is it actually Ken's master as well?). If you watched the abysmal Alpha Generations Anime you know that Gouki killed Gouken, so you won't really be spoilered by reading this or by watching the trailer if you are a hardcore Street Fighter fan already anyway.

The trailer ends with Ken jumping into the mix while Ryu tried to finish off Gouki with a Shinkuu Hadoken, like that would've worked anyway... so Ken interferes with a Shinryuken, it's not quite clear what he does though, does he attack Ryu's Hadoken or Ryu himself, who knows? You get a three cut image of all three of them and that's where the trailer ends.
It is a very cool trailer indeed on first glance, once you give it another go though, you get the feeling that nothing is actually happening. Gouki just keeps on trash talking Ryu to make him do, well something as he keeps on just lying on the floor. Ken comes in as a stereotypical cocky american with a bunch of one liners to look cool (well the 80s are over though) and Ryu well... doesn't really do too much anyway.
Anyway you should DEFINITELY give the trailer a go though..
