Street Fighter IV
Sony Playstation 3

Street Fighter IVStreet Fighter IV is probably one of the most anticipated games - period. After countless updates of Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III and Street Fighter EX, we finally get to see some footage of Street Fighter IV. However, the game does not exactly look like the kind of game you would have expected the series to produce. The whole game looks rather Americanised, rather than the Japanese style that was expected from this title. We are now being introduced to bulky 3D characters who do not look particularly attractive, but that does not mean the game does not look good. In fact, the truth is far from it, it looks beautiful despite not being 2D anymore. Street Fighter IVI cannot really say much about whether the actual gameplay is good or not, but it sure looks fantastic – fluid, fast-paced and, from what is shown on the video, it 'feels' right. With Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix coming out soon, you will definitely have something to tie you over until this beauty hits the sales.

The only characters that have been confirmed so far are Ryu and Ken, although Chun Li is probably going to be included as well as it seems to be her stage that the two are fighting on. As for the fighting system itself, it has got all the good stuff from Street Fighter II and III, excepting the parry system which has been taken out and replaced it with the Revenge bar. Unfortunately, you cannot tell most of this from the current videos available. We’re hoping that Capcom will stop holding out on us soon and release some decent footage.

Street Fighter IVStreet Fighter will always be a big title no matter what happens, but will this one really be superior to Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike? In my opinion, 3rd Strike is the best Street Fighter ever, so if this game can really kick 3rd Strike out the window, I am even more excited to get my hands on this one.
