The Sony PSP, released in December 2004, made a lot of noise when it came out because of the great graphics it delivered on a handheld console. The other big selling point of the Sony PSP is the UMD (Universal Media Disc) capabilities it offers, however, based on what is being said in the forums, it has not caused quite the ripple that Sony would have liked. In Japan it is not selling too badly, but overall it still has a long way to go before it can catch up with the Nintendo DS Lite.
The most interesting thing about the PSP is that you can modify it quite easily so that you can then play emulators on it for SNES, GBA, Mega Drive, NEOGEO and more. Even PS1 games work in this way. You can also save these games onto your SD card, so that you do not have to carry the UMDs with you. That is why a lot of people bought the Sony PSP.
In this section we will be putting up reviews for games that are released on the Sony PSP. If there are any games that you would like us to review, then drop us an email at games@shinohan.com. We are also still looking for people to write PSP reviews for us. If you would like to write reviews about your favourite games, or condemn any that you did not like, check our Jobs section on how to contact us. But enough for now, please check the section and have fun!
