Persona 4

After Persona 3 and Persona 3 FES Atlus decided to shoot another Shin Megami Tensei game for the good old Playstation 2, yes that’s right it’s still for the Sony PS2 and not a next gen game. So what can we expect from Persona 4 that hasn’t been done already in Persona 3 and FES? We actually don’t know yet, what we do know is the fact that you still have social activities included, such as going to school making friends well the usual ‘dating sim’ stuff, which really made the previous game great.
The only trailers that are out so far show some conversations in Japanese and some animated videos where ‘something’ happens, can’t quite say what it is. The game so far doesn’t really shape up to anything, as there are no specifics to what the game is about so far. If you had a look at the video above you will find that the visuals do not differ much (if at all) from the previous installment, full voice features are still present and the music although not remarkable does its job.
For those of you who have absolutely no idea what Persona or Shin Megami Tensei is please find a VERY brief description below.
Shin Megami Tensei (or as it is known in Japan 真・女神転生, True Goddess of Rebirth) by Atlus was released on October 30, 1992 for the first time. The first installment was released on the Super Famicom (commonly known as SNES or Super Nintendo in the west) and was later released on the Sega CD. The game later re-released for the Sony PlayStation 1 and the GBA (Nintendo Gameboy Advance) to build up for newer titles such as Shin Megami Tensei III. Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne (or Lucifer as it’s called in Europe for some reason) released in 2003 made a lot of noise as it featured Capcom’s own Dante off the Devil May Cry series. Persona, Devil Summoner, and the Digital Devil Saga series are all spin off’s of Shin Megami Tensei and are very much respected in Japan.
I do realize that this won’t probably give you too much insight on the whole thing, but it’s a start, right? Anyway, we will be putting up more trailers as they become available.
