In this episode of CDWK Ill run down my Top 10 Nintendo Gamecube games! Please remember that this list was made on the simple standard of how much fun I had with these games….nothing more.
10: Sonic Adventure DX – This is the only good 3D sonic game and ironicly one of the funnest in the hedgehogs history..unfortunately after beating this game I was left with the reality that the 2D sonic games are better than the 3D ones and that’s why the hegdhog is at number 10.
9: Metroid Prime – Metroid Prime was an awesome game when I played it and I came away with a great experience. It reminded me a lot of the Alien movies. However, once I beat it once I never really replayed it and thus it sits at number 6.
8: Super Mario Sunshine – While it wasn’t better than Mario 64 its at least a very decent game. Mario sunshine was a blast to play and anyone who owns a gamecube should give it a try.
7: Rebel Strike: Rogue Squadron III – Rogue Squadron III was considered to be a letdown by most people but for some reason I find it to be the one that I have the most fun with out of this series.
6: Resident Evil Remake – I remember playing the orginal RE before I played this game just to get myself psyched up for it…and Im glad I did. RE Remake is one of the best if not the best remake of a game ever. Better controls, better graphics, better voice acting…and even scarier than the original.
5: The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker – The game may look like a Disney cartoon but with a dark story, great controls and epic battles, its easy to see why this game was so fun however the end of the game does feel a bit dragged on and thus it’s a number 5.
4: Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess – What can I say about Twilight Princess that hasn’t been said already? Well I can say that it feels very familiar to previous Zelda titles which is both a bad and a good thing. On top of that the game’s main quest takes hours to get to, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is a very fun game with a good story, a variety of dungeons to master and a very epic final battle that makes it an instant classic that every gamecube owner should play.
3: Super Smash Brother’s Melee – This is the game that made the gamecube super popular. Smash Brothers Melee has given me more hours of entertainment than I care to remember. My friends and even ex girlfriends played this game and we had a blast knocking the snot out of each other. I truly praise Nintendo for making such an awesome sequel to the N64 original and surpassing it by leaps and bounds.
2: Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes - Another outstanding remake, The twin snakes merged the story of MGS for the PS1 and the gameplay of MGS 2 for the PS2 and brought it to the gamecube. This is a once in a lifetime experience as you get to relive all the drama, action and pure joy that is MGS but on a Nintendo console....now that is what I call awesome. This game is also the sole reason I bought a gamecube at all and Id be happy if this was the only game I owned on the cube….and that says a lot.
1: Resident Evil 4 – Lets state the obvious here, RE4 is one of the must own games on the gamecube. Its one of the best games ever made and anyone who says differently…well I haven’t met anyone who says differently and it’s the ONLY resident evil game that I can replay at anytime and still have fun playing.
