Gaming With Khan Episode 2
Gaming With Khan

Gaming With Khan 2In this episode of Gaming With Khan Ill tell you my opinion on two demos I recently downloaded off of the PSN and my surprise review of the playstation 3 exclusive: Warhawk.

Conan Demo: Now this was awesome. The demo had good controls but the combat did feel repetitive. I liked how you could carry your default sword, two swords or the giant sword. The game did seem a bit unbalanced though since the giant sword pretty much made you invincible if used properly. The little bit of story that was shown was also good and I like the cliffhanger ending…it’s a good set up to buy this game. Id recommend to anyone who owns a PS3 to download this demo and try it out.

Ratchet and Clank Demo: This is the best demo on the PSN so far. WOW is what comes to mind. The demo feels like a game and its so exciting and controls so naturally and feels so damn smooth that I felt down when it ended. Im so buying this game. Ive never played a ratchet and clank game before but after playing this…I may just go back and play the others. The humor in the story and the unpredictability of what will happen next made this a great thrill ride of a demo for me to play through.

Thoughts on Warhawk: As anyone should know by now, Warhawk is a multiplayer only game that is a true AAA title on the PS3. It’s a good reason to buy this system because frankly its so damn addictive. Every system has its multiplayer king that attracts people…Halo 3 does it for the 360 and Warhawk does just that for the PS3.

Gaming With Khan 2The game has its basic online features like creating a game and joining a game or playing on a local server. I bought the Blu Ray Disc version so I got the free headset with it and it’s a great deal as far as Im concerned. You can customize your character and your Warhawks as you advance in rank which is cool.

The game has 4 modes  and they are Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Zones. Deathmatch isn’t that good to be honest and I seriously avoid it. I usually play the other three modes and they keep me busy for a few hours whenever I play. All three team based modes are awesome and have a great atmosphere to them. There is no best team mode as everyone has a different opinion but in my opinion ZONES is the diamond of this game.

The game itself isn’t hard to learn and its almost as simple as pie to learn. Its doesn’t have a steep learning curve or anything of that sort. The game does suffer because it feels very generic and basic in terms of weapons, maps and gameplay, however it does all of that masterfully to the point where it doesn’t matter and you simply get into the fray and have a great time playing. Hopefully expansion packs add more maps and possible weapons to this game in the future.

Gaming With Khan 2The best thing about this game is that it doesn’t lag at all. The apocalypse is happening around you in beautiful 1080i and yet there isn’t any framerate drop or lagging. I could be suffering through Armageddon in a 32 player zones match and lag isn’t a factor at all.

My only gripe is that you cant roll…that really bothered me at first but I adapted to not being able to perform that action.

To summarize it, if you own a PS3...and are into multiplayer mayhem…then this is a must own for you.
