In this episode of GWK Ill tell you my thoughts on Unreal Tournament III, Turok and Devil May Cry 4.
Unreal Tournament III: I finally got my hands on this epic, no pun intended, sequel and unfortunately…I was left disappointed. Yeah the graphics are fantastic and yes the multiplayer mode rocks, but aside from a single player mode that actually has a real story, the game feels too similar to its predecessors. In a game world where first person shooters are a dime a dozen, UnrealTournament III doesn’t rise above the rest and is worth a rental if you want, but Id only purchase this game if youre a fanatic of the Unreal Tournament franchise.

Turok: Now while I don’t like how the game’s not based on the comic book story in any way, I cant deny that this is a step in the right direction for the relaunched turok franchise. The graphics were great despite some hiccups here and there and the animations are spectacular. The story is ok in my view but what really made me want to play this game was how awesome it is to interact with the dinosaurs. They can be your enemies and your friends. The gameplay is nothing short of great and if you’ve played any first person shooter in the last year then youll be able to get right into it and start shooting your way through dinos and troops. The game never gets boring, but the single player mode feels very short when compared to previous turok games. However, the game makes up for any flaws in the single player mode with a great multiplayer mode that will have you on your toes as other players aren’t the only thing to worry about.
At the end of the day though I can clearly say that this game is good for a rental, but should only be purchased if youre a first person shooter enthusiast or a turok fanatic…otherwise…rent it.

Devil May Cry 4: Let me say that the only DMC game that Ive played before this was DMC 1 for the PS2, so when I played the demo on the PSN I rather enjoyed the new additions and gawked at how beautiful the game looks. When I played the actual game I enjoyed it even more. This is a hardcore gamers dream. It hasan extraordinarally deep combat system, a difficulty that will test the patience of JOB and bosses that would make Kratos cringe.
The graphics are also astounding and the level of character detail left me amazed, but for a game that has all this graphical prowess…youd think theyd have more interactive environments.
In the end, I say its easily worth renting, but its also worth purchasing if youre a hardcore gamer, an action junkie and/ or a DMC fan.
